Jamie Playford and Alex Dunton, both licensed insolvency practitioners with Leading, have both been successful in passing the relevant exams and regulatory checks to enable Leading to be authorised by the ICAEW to carry out the reserved legal activity of non-contentious probate in England and Wales.
Jamie commented: “We have considered probate and estate administration as an area to diversify into for a little while, and after studying and taking the exams during Summer 2020 in lockdown, we are very pleased to be given the regulatory approval from the ICAEW to now undertake this work. It will allow us to complement our core insolvency business and our team can utilise their skills across both areas of the business.”
Alex added: “Estate administration requires many complimentary skill sets to insolvency – we are dealing with trust assets in a regulated environment, and we have to be sensitive to the emotions of people facing difficult situations. It’s a challenging area of work that we are looking forward to starting.”
To support this area of the business, Leading are pleased to announce Charlotte Elwell has joined the firm from her previous role at a law firm in Essex. Joining as a paralegal and relocating to Norwich, Charlotte said of the expansion: “Leading are a very exciting firm to work for, I’ve already seen a lot of growth in business since I joined and I’m looking forward to working with the rest of the team and discussing this service with our existing professional contacts.”
