Norfolk-based insolvency and restructuring firm, Leading Business Services, has been appointed liquidators of Right Time Recruitment Ltd, whose Director won ‘The Apprentice’ in 2017.
James White took part in the BBC show approximately a year after setting up the recruitment agency, which specialised in IT, in September 2016. Mr White had ten years of experience in the recruitment industry, prior to becoming Director of the firm.
After taking part and becoming a joint winner alongside another contestant, Lord Alan Sugar invested £250,000 into the Company. The Company was historically successful reporting a turnover of £1.9m in June 2022, with Right Time Recruitment employing approximately 20 staff members. However, the business ultimately took a downturn by the end of 2022, which was reportedly being concealed from White by another Director.
By April 2023, the Company was in a bad position, with invoices having not been sent since February. Right Time Recruitment ceased trading in February 2023 and the company contacted Leading Business Services the following year in March 2024 to review the financial state of the company, which was concluded as having no reasonable prospect of avoiding insolvent liquidation, and the company was thereafter placed into Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation.
The liquidation of Right Time Recruitment Ltd was finalised on the 29 May 2024. Jamie Playford, Director of Leading Business Services and appointed Liquidator of the company stated “The company appears to have traded well up to the last accounts filed up to June 2022 and part of our role will be to investigate and consider the causes of the company’s insolvency following this date. Our primary role in any insolvency is to determine if there are assets available for company creditors’’.
